Indian origin Kamla Prasad Bissessar became the first lady prime minister of Trinidad and Tobago....

It was a historic moment for Trinidad and Tobago, a country at south Caribbean when the United National Congress party leader lead the coalition of five parties “ People’s Partnership”  and became the first woman prime minister of this Caribbean country having 45 % Indian origin people.

Kamla coalition “People’s partnership” won 29 seats out of 41 and won a clear majority.  This has ended the 40 years rule of ruling party

Kamla ancestors were brought in these islands in 19^th century from India to work in these islands. She is hindu and has a great faith on God.
